Non-Profit organizations whose primary functions include equine rescue, rehabilitation and therapies are facing an extremely difficult economy. Donations are harder to secure than ever, and many organizations are no longer able to continue their missions due to shrinking budgets. We feel this is a tragedy, considering the record numbers of horses being abandoned, surrendered and sent to auction.
Because Special Horses, Inc. has been directly involved with organizations in many capacities we understand how difficult it can be to effectively run the organization and still consistently fundraise. We know how costly marketing and networking can be both in terms of finances and time, and with that in mind, we make our years of experience and our time available to organizations who are struggling to provide the services our horses so desperately need.
We offer our services at no cost to 501(c)3 non-profits who are directly involved with equine rescue, rehabilitation and therapy. These services include social networking, website design, maintenance and hosting, design and development of marketing materials and wholesale printing, inclusion in our national fundraisers, and the opportunity to network with an outstanding group of respected organizations. Organizations with operating budgets of less than $100,000 are eligible to apply for services. With your support we will continue to grow and to provide emergency grants, funding for outreach and educational seminars, and so much more.
We have the following basic requirements in addition to the network participation:
(1) You must be a member of GuideStar, and your Guidestar listing must be complete.
(2) You must supply your most recent tax filings and balance sheet
(3) You must supply a copy of your IRS determination letter
(4) You must have two or more continuous years of operation delivering your mission
(5) Veterinary, Farrier and two professional references are required
We do not offer services for funding non-profits as this is a duplication of services. Certain fundraisers such as Secret Santa require participation via social networking and Chronicle of the Horse Forums registration.
