EMERGENCY FUND A One-Time Grant to Be Used Toward Initial Costs for Unforeseen and Immediate Needs for Equine Rescue Organizations in Good Standing

Special Horses Is Dedicated to Raising Awareness and Funds for Equines In Need

THE SPECIAL HORSES EMERGENCY FUND

A one-time per year $100.00 grant will be made by The Special Horses Emergency Fund to any US-based equine rescue 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS and their state. Funds will be transferred immediately via PayPal to be used to help defray urgent and unexpected costs for the organization. Funds may be used for the purchase of hay or feed, hauling costs, vet fees, farrier, or for parts or equipment necessary to maintain the rescue. If the organization does not maintain its own facility, the funds are to be designated for the appropriate foster. Funds may be NOT be used to purchase an equine directly from a kill buyer.

An organization is eligible only once per calendar year. The goal is to provide immediate funds within 24 hours of the request, with minimal application and follow-up paperwork. When funds are exhausted for the fiscal year, no further grants will be able to be provided.

To apply for a grant from The Special Horses Emergency Fund, download the form on the right and email it with your 501(c)(3) determination letter to specialhorses.org@gmail.com.

NOTE: We would like to acknowledge Seeger Toyota in Creve Coeur, Missouri and Heather Hall for donating seed money for the Emergency Fund. Thank you to Seeger Toyota and Heather Hall!
